Whistler Golf Club Snow Mold Trial Project

This fall at the Whistler Golf Club we partnered up with the Western Canadian Turfgrass Association, Syngenta and TerraLink in a research project on the effect of snow mold on putting greens. It is not often that a golf course does not apply any fungicides on their greens going into the winter season. Due to our very exciting project of re sodding our greens this spring, it allowed us to try a variety of different ideas to control snow mold over the winter months.

By Jerry Rousseau - One of the primary mandates of the Western Canada Turfgrass Association is to foster turfgrass research for the betterment of the entire sports turf and golf course industry.
The Canadian Turf Research Foundation (CTRF) Board of Directors voted to support two turf research projects for 2012 funding totaling $43,000. Total project value to completion is $68,000 over two years.
Peter Sorokovsky gave the WCTA's Research Committee Report at the 2012 Annual General Meeting held duing the Show and Conference held in Victoria January 21st. Topics covered included the projects to be funded in the coming year (edited for TLN)...
