Thursday, Feb 15
Back-to-back-to-back keynotes begin with 2000 Sidney Olympic Games Triathlon Gold Medalist, Simon Whitfield presenting a compelling and motivational talk called 'The Pursuit of Excellence'. Next, Mark Colgate from UVIC will inform on 'Creating a Powerful Service Culture' and finally, special guest Damian Hough, Head Curator of the Adelaide Oval, home of the fastest cricket pitches in the world, will enlighten us on what it takes to manage a world-class facility down-under.
After the keynotes, we'll do lunch and then WCTA members will head to our Annual General Meeting in the Victoria Conference Centre Lecture Theatre. That afternoon, four separate education tracks run for two hours each.
After all that learning, our famous ‘Turf Management Industry Trade Show Reception’ goes in the Carson Hall from 3:00pm until 6:30pm.
Friday, Feb 16
Make sure you’re ready to go at 8:30am for our final day, again with four separate educational streams. The trade show runs 10:30am to 1:00pm with lunch served on the show floor.
Following lunch, we’ll have a plenary turf session by turf legendary guru, Dr. Trey Rogers from Michigan State University while concurrently hosting ‘Turf 201’, an extension of the immensely popular 'Turf 101' and taught by top turf teacher, Stan Kazymerchyk from Kwantlen University. After all that seriousness, we’ll close the show with a set from local comic/ventriloquist, Michael Harrison with a performance called 'VENTASTIC'.
