The Canadian Tour opening tournament just got a little ‘greener’. Host course for the 29th annual Times Colonist Island Savings Open, Uplands Golf Club in Victoria, B.C., has recently achieved designation as a ‘Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary’.

WCTA 2012 Turfgrass Research Update

Over the last few years, we’ve opted out of printing a separate turfgrass research report realizing a savings of close to $15,000 in that time.  It’s a smart move by the Board as we’ve seen a decline in dollars earmarked for research and it’s provided some time to figure out a new approach toward sourcing additional funding.

TARS Update at July 15, 2012

12.04.23-Riding-mowerjpgThe Travelling Annual Road Show or TARS as it's known to WCTA members, is a series of educational events that take place throughout the regions of BC each summer.  Often these talks are CEC point accredited but frequently topics range far beyond pesticide use.  Talsk have ranged from sprayer nozzle selection and calibration to using trained dogs to chase geese to errant golf ball liability to sustainable management practices and everything in between.
