Organization of the Western Canada Turfgrass Association first ever Sports Turf Field Training Day is well underway. Designed for all levels of sportsfield management personnel, this full day event takes place rain or shine at the Township of Langley's Willoughby Community Park and LEC (Langley Event Centre) on August 29th.
Speakers for the morning education sessions are confirmed, the Corix barbeque trailer has been booked to provide lunch, afternoon live demonstrations are scheduled and the vendors are clammering to sign-up for the supplier trade show. Note that CEC points have been applied for and we expect at least 1.0 IPM point available.

The WCTA, in conjuntion with the City of Victoria Parks Division, is proud to support and present, the VANCOUVER ISLAND SPORTS FIELD DAY taking place May 8th, 2013 at Royal Athletic Park in Victoria, BC. RAP is home to the Victoria HarbourCats Baseball and Victoria Highlanders Football Club and the Field Day is a free educational event open to all Sports Field Managers, Operators, Professionals and Field staff.

The first ever sports field specific WCTA Travelling Annual Road Show (TARS) took place August 29th at Nat Bailey Stadium, hosted by Head Groundskeeper Tom Archibald and Assistant Groundskeeper Trevor Sheffield. About 30 sportsfield personnel showed up for a very interesting talk about and tour of the Scotiabank Field followed by a presentation from Dr. Brian Holl, Professor Emeritus University of British Columbia, WCTA Director and principal of Lamorna Enterprises, a consulting company for the sportsturf industry.
