Metro-Vancouver Water Restrictions Set to End October 15th

By WCTA staff

As per Metro-Vancouver’s Drinking Water Conservation Plan, all lawn and garden watering restrictions are set to expire on October 15th.

When asked if watering restrictions would end on schedule this year, Nermine Tawfik, Engagement Supervisor – Water at Metro-Vancouver stated, “Yes the watering restrictions will end on October 15 since the demands have started declining due to the rain events we’ve had in the last two weeks and the reduced temperatures.  Fortunately, the region’s source reservoir levels have increased for the first time in a few months and with the forecast for more rain, we are hoping for more recovery for our reservoirs.”

The Drinking Water Conservation Plan is automatically activated on May 1 and deactivated on October 15 every year.  If necessary, officials could extend watering restrictions as was done in 2022.
