Japanese Beetle Season is Here - Stay Alert!

As daytime temperatures consistently hit 21C, Japanese beetle (JB) flight season is officially underway -- running from June 15 to October 15.

During this time, adult beetles emerge and begin searching for over 300 types of host plants (or a mate), feeding on flowers, trees, and even your veggie patch. 

Japanese beetles are around 1 cm long and easy to identify: look for metallic green bodies, copper wing covers, and 12 distinct white hair tufts along the sides and rear of the abdomen. They may still be hard to spot in low numbers, but your vigilance matters!
