WCTA2026 Conference Documented in Photos

The 62nd Annual WCTA Conference and Trade Show was a major hit and we have the photos to prove it!  Keep in mind captions are written with the best intentions for humour (more or less).  Almost all images credit Mayowill Photography.

The WCTA show is always a sure bet!

Have yourself a ball at the 62nd Annual WCTA Conference & Trade Show!

Hands up if you're having a ball at the 62nd Annual Conference & Trade Show (those without their hands up were either too slow for the photo or just too shy)

If you're really on the ball, you might notice the venue accidentally put up last year's theme on the marquee.

Mario Lanthier, right of image, is the ultimate educator when it comes to pre-conference CEC's.

Happy to see you at the President's Reception.

On the left, WCTA Life Member and legend, Jim McGarvey, catching up with Phil Bunting from UBC Golf Course.

Good times, eh fellas?

Good times part 2, 3, 4, 5 etc.  We have dozens more just like this, too many to post!

My guess is they are talking turf.

Somehow, James from Allett Canada, always finds his way into a lot of conference pics!

It seems fitting the President's Reception was moved to the Chairman's Lounge where it was spacious and not 100 degrees!

Moving on, we have some work to do starting with WCTA President Nathan Wade checking in with the sound guy.

Ok let's roll! Phones off please..

Tops in the turf world and our keynote speaker, Dr. Trey Rogers receving some appreciation from WCTA President, Nathan Wade.

WCTA Nick Barbour thanking Dr. Chas Schmid from OSU for a great presentation.

KayLee Hansen was back this year to deliver our management track.

Matt Legg from Syngenta on the ever-popular and important CEC track.

Shauna and Brad Burnell from Waterkind - Shauna shared her expertise on the topic of water management strategies

It was an amazing speaker line-up this year and we even had the Roch (Dr. Gaussoin that is).

Time for the AGM. Finance Director, Nik Walls provides a report on the numbers.

All in favour?

The always popular Exhibitor Reception kicks off the trade show.

Like the happy people images above, we also have a ton of trade show shots. Here are a few to peruse...

At first glance, I thought this was a shot from inside the casino😀

Silent Auction set a new fund-raising record at $14,529!  Thanks to the new head honcho and item wrangler, Tab Buckner for his hard work and of course all the donors and bid winners.

Hey Ken Reid, you're supposed to put your own name on the bid sheets!

Time to wrap things up with our traditional comedy act by the Juno Award winning Jacob Samuel.

Followed by the typically chaotic prize draws/giveaways. I'm not allowed to throw stuff anymore but could not resist (nice snag!)

And the grand prize winner of the Toro push mower provided by Toro Irrigation was Krista Hewlett from UBC (retired).  What was Krista's first thought?  "How am I going to get this in my car?"  Terry's like, "Don't worry, it folds up."

And in case you're wondering what happened next at the River Rock...

Thanks for watching!  THE END....
