Saturday August 16th – Meet & Greet - 7:00 pm - Jack’s Place (up at the Westin Bear Mountain Resort)
Sunday August 17th - Education with 3 CEC’s in Health & Safety beginning at 8:30 am, Lunch, Sponsors Showcase Displays, BCGSA Exchange Meeting, Equipment Demos, Informal West Coast Barbeque at the Maintenance Facility
Monday, August 18th - 18 Holes of Golf on Valley Course with Bag Lunch, Prizes and Buffet Dinner
3.0 CEC’s in Safety & Environmental Protection - Speaker: Mario Lanthier
Part 1 - Upcoming Changes on the Label of Round-Up - Mario will lead the group in a discussion in predicting what changes are coming on the label of Round-up? He will review how Health Canada is expected to release this year their initial proposal for glyphosate. Mario will discuss why glyphosate is likely the most commonly used pesticide in horticulture. He will also review with the group recent decisions and label changes made by Health Canada on other herbicides, examine important studies on the impact of glyphosate on the environment, and remind the group of standards regarding glyphosate in the provincial legislation.
Part 2 – Impact of Pesticides on the Environment – The Modern Thinking - Mario will be working with the group in making a list of the pesticides most commonly used for lawn and turf-care and examine their impact on the environment. During his presentation Mario will be posing the following questions for discussion: What should we know about the protection of water? The protection of other plants? What methods are available to minimize drift? What is the latest information regarding the impact of pesticides on bees?

Sunday, August 17th (3-5 pm): Showcase your Equipment and/or Innovative Products. This will give Superintendents a hands-on experience of your product line that will give them the cutting edge. Groups of partipants will be marshalled through zones set up on the golf course, with equal time given to all demonstrations.
The BCGSA will be producing new signs this year that include your company logo(s). (We will require a copy of your company logo(s) and any product line logo’s you wish to include on your sign at least four weeks prior to the event.)
