Students Say Thanks - Updated
Up to five awards are presented annually by the WCTA to deserving students enrolled in a full time Turfgrass Management Program, as chosen by a selection committee made up of WCTA Board members. Award value is typically $500 and winners also receive a free one-year WCTA membership.

Jacobsen Turf Scholarship Information for 2013
Last year, Jacobsen, a manufacturer of high-quality turf maintenance equipment used in the golf and sports turf management industries, announced that they will be providing over 30 scholarships to those pursuing a 2 yr. or 4 yr. degree in Turf Management or other related discipline such as Horticulture or Greenspace Management.
The scholarships are being offered again in 2013 as per the following press release:

The Western Canada Turfgrass Association is offering up to FIVE $500 Awards, to students enrolled in an accredited Turfgrass management program.
Applications must be submitted in electronic format, followed by mailed copy, in FULL by Friday, February 15, 2013

2013 Scholarships Awarded
Grant Steinberg Was One Of Four WCTA Scholarship Recipients last year.It was another year of tough decision making by our panel and we would like to thank outgoing Past President, Scott Mitchell and his committee for taking on this task. This year's award winners receive $500 each, a free WCTA membership and a lifetime of satisfaction from such a great achievement.

Sports Turf Association Sheard Scholarship

The Sports Turf Association (STA) is now accepting applications for the 2013 Robert W. Sheard Scholarship. Deadline for submissions is May 1, 2013.
The STA is dedicated to the promotion of better, safer sports turf through innovation, education and professional programs. In order to further this goal and to encourage, support and provide leadership to those considering a career in the sports turf industry the STA established a scholarship program in 1993. The STA Robert W. Sheard Scholarship in the amount of $1000 may be awarded annually and is intended to assist students with the cost of tuition, books and related expenses. The scholarship program is funded through STA membership fees.
